January 12th Release Notes

We started 2024 at full speed to deliver more value to our Rodeo Drive community. Here is what is new:

Features

New planner view: We released the People view in the planner, giving more visibility on workspace members' capacity and availability.

Through the People view you can filter and assign time activities by members, giving you a better overview of your team’s workload.

There are slight permission differences in this view:

  • Administrators and Finance Managers have access to all features and see a row for nonbillable events of Workspace Members
  • Project managers can only see the scheduled hours for projects they manage. On other projects, they will see the scheduled row as “busy.”
  • Team members and Guests can only see the activities they’ve been assigned under the projects they are part of. They are able to add and update notes to the activities but cannot make changes to the activity duration and dates assigned.

Bug Fixes

  • Reports: We fixed a bug where the time report displayed time in days instead of hours.
  • Directory: We fixed a bug where the text in a Directory dialogue expanded outside its field.

No specific software updates or changes are required to enjoy the benefits of these enhancements.

Coming Soon 👀

An updated design and workflow to the Invoices feature!

Along with working on our road map for upcoming updates and releases, our team has been invested in fixing bugs to improve your Rodeo Drive experience.

Here is a summary of what we’ve accomplished in this latest release:

Changes:

  • User avatar: The avatar in the top right corner now displays the image of the user — which can be a JPEG, PNG, or GIF format. Previously, it displayed the image of the workspace in which the user is a member. Learn how to update your user profile and avatar.

Bug Fixes:

  • Saving activity names: New activity names will now save when pressing the Enter/Return key.
  • Demo data: Sample project dates on new accounts are now set to the date of account creation instead of a past date.
  • Copying projects: We fixed the issue where, sometimes, the wrong project was copied when duplicating a project.
  • Project start date: All projects must have a start date. We fixed an issue where you could remove the start date.

Coming Soon 👀

A smarter, more advanced planner with expanded capabilities.

No specific software updates or changes are required to enjoy the benefits of these enhancements.

Sep 12 2023 Release Notes

In our latest release, we are excited to bring you improvements that will enhance your experience with Rodeo Drive.

We spent much of this past software update focusing on bugs and improvements to the system but also released one new feature: Multi-tenancy.

Features

  • Support multi-tenancy: You can now be part of multiple workspaces using the same email address. When you're part of multiple organizations, you'll then be able to see and switch between them straight from your profile dropdown.

  • Resend updated expenses: Updates to expenses are now automatically shared with integrations (QuickBooks and Xero). When updating an already created expense within Rodeo Drive, the changes are automatically shared with your integrated accounting service. This simplifies the expensing process and allows for the information in your accounting software to be the same as in Rodeo Drive.

Changes

  • Sending invoice XML file together with PDF: We now send an XML file along with a PDF. UBL (Universal Business Language) is the standard format for electronic invoicing. It is an XML file specifically designed for invoices. An e-invoice is not a PDF file. A UBL invoice makes it possible to send invoice data to accounting software. The UBL invoice is read directly without manual input.
  • Integration mailto function sends XML files (except in the US): Now, sales and purchase invoices are accompanied by XML files, aiding integration with accounting software. This feature, previously limited to the Dutch environment, is now available for wider use.
  • Choosing estimate numbers: When finalizing your first estimate in Rodeo Drive, you can now choose a starting number. This is particularly useful for companies transitioning from other tools, as they can maintain their existing ordered number list, ensuring continuity within Rodeo Drive. (This function already exists on invoices)
  • Added logos from financial providers (NL only): We added logos from financial providers that also have a digital mailbox. We can share all finalized invoices and expenses via the mail to function.
  • New user e-mail verification: New user signups now require email verification before gaining access to Rodeo Drive, enhancing security and ensuring a smooth onboarding process.
  • Terms & Conditions: The Terms & Conditions are now conveniently accessible within Rodeo Drive, keeping you informed about our platform usage guidelines.
  • Removed language: German has been temporarily removed as an account language option from Rodeo Drive.
  • Item visibility: Project Managers can only view and create estimates, purchase orders, expenses, and invoices for projects they are assigned. Previously, Project Managers could view all items regardless of if they were a member of the project.
  • Search to add team member: A search functionality has been added to the ‘add team member’ module within projects to reduce the need to scroll.
  • Delete tags: Tags can now be deleted from your Rodeo Drive workspace by clicking the trash can icon located right next to each tag. You will see the option to delete a tag when clicking the Add tags on a project's budget or the All tags filter drop-down on the Projects tab or project report by all. Once you delete a tag it will be permanently removed from all projects associated with it.
  • Show estimate status: Before creating an invoice based on an estimate, users are now able to view the status of that estimate.

Bug Fixes

  • 404 page: We've addressed an issue where an unnecessary 404 error page was displayed.
  • Token expired: The 'Token expired' message on the manage subscription screen no longer displays after refreshing the page.
  • Default markup visibility: Default markup now shows on the rate card page.
  • Remove deleted accounts: Deleted accounts no longer show on the project team list.

No specific software update or changes are required to enjoy the benefits of these enhancements.
