Now you can add audio to your guides!

Shared by Maya • September 21, 2023

Hi Friend,

You’ve been asking for it, and now it’s here!

From now on, you can make your demos more accessible and offer another layer of personalization by adding an audio file to your guide’s steps.

Ideas for how you can use the Audio On Guides feature:

Add an audio file to a specific guide step

Have something specific you’d like to highlight? Want to use short text and direct your viewers to listen to additional information? In addition to the written instructions, you can upload an audio file to enrich the text on the guide.

Make your embedded website demo more accessible

Add audio files to the demo on your website to meet accessibility requirements. Let people choose how they consume the content based on their individual needs.

Include audio in your entire demo and automatically play it

Add audio files to every step of your demo that will be played automatically when someone views it. You can set the audio file to ‘Autoplay’ once a user gets to this step without triggering it by clicking ‘Play’.

How can you use this feature? It’s simple! In your guide’s settings in the Editor, click the plus button that will allow you to upload an audio file.

Gain total control over who can access your demos!

Maya avatar
Shared by Maya • September 10, 2023

Hi Friend,

Introducing our new “Demo Permissions” feature that allows you to control who can access, view, or customize your demo link, regardless of the demo template permissions.

Until now, permission to access and change a demo’s settings was automatically granted based on the template’s permissions. This cluttered the Demo Library because every link generated from a template was visible to the whole team, regardless of the relevance.

Now, you’ll be able to keep your demos private or make them public to everyone on the team.

How does the new feature benefit you?

  • Declutter the demo library to help your team focus on only what's relevant for them.
  • Keep Demo Insights accurate by controlling who uses the demo and for what.

FYI

From now on, any new demo link that’s generated from a template will be private by default and access to it needs to be proactively given.

In addition, the permissions for the existing demos that your team is already using will remain the same.

Introducing Dynamic Linking: A new and improved version of Auto-Linking!

Maya avatar
Shared by Maya • August 08, 2023

Hi Friend,

Up until now, Creators had to spend a lot of editing time manually linking between all screens and their elements to make demos responsive and feel like the real product.

Say no more!

Now, all screens and elements you capture will be automatically linked to each other right after you finish capturing them. It will also work on any screens you add or remove from your existing templates. That way, you can easily maintain your already used templates and demos.

To give you full control over the links in your templates, that’s where Dynamic Linking comes into play! You can easily change the settings and switch between 3 modes:

  • All links identified on the screen (default).
  • Link only what you clicked on.
  • No auto-links at all, and rely only on manual links.

How to use it:

1. Start capturing your product’s screens using the extension on “Continuous Capture” mode or “Single Capture”.

2. Go back to the Editor and you’ll see that by default, all identified links are automatically linked.

3. If you’d like to change the logic of how the links are applied, go to your template’s settings and choose from automatically linking, only clicked-path links, or no automated links at all, and save the changes.

FYI - For Dynamic Linking, there is a 250 link limit. However, once this limit is surpassed, manual links can still be added.

New demo customization flow to improve the handoff between editors & sellers!

Maya avatar
Shared by Maya • July 26, 2023

Hi Friend,

Our main mission in life is to make sure you’re getting the most out of Walnut.

And that’s exactly what the new demo customization flow will empower you to do, by improving the handoff between editors & sellers!

Up until now, sellers couldn’t easily leverage all of Walnut’s capabilities.

In addition, it was up to editors to not only create and edit demo templates, but also publish them.

Now, editors will have a new way to share demo templates to give sellers one consolidated place to preview the template, personalize it with variables, allow prospects to add comments, connect it to their CRM, and share the link with prospects. All with the peace of mind that the demo’s narrative won’t be changed.

How the new customization flow can help you:

  • Simplify process for sellers—All of the capabilities sellers need can now be found under one roof—without relying on the editors. Plus, sellers will be able to easily track their opportunities and respond immediately.
  • Scale collaboration—Reduce the overload on the team and decrease the execution time. Editors can share demo templates with the rest of the team so they don’t need to maintain demo links. Plus, they won’t need to worry about other people editing the product narrative.

New: Share demo templates with user groups

Yael avatar
Shared by Yael • July 06, 2023

Hi Friend,

Our goal is to help you spread the word with your product demos.

So say “goodbye” to sending each demo template individually. From now on, you can easily organize your team into groups to manage permissions, and share content with all of them at once.

Some ideas of what you can do with user groups:

  • Get the relevant content in reps’ hands
  • Collect more feedback - faster

How to set user groups:

  • First create user groups - Go to the Company Settings tab to set your user groups. Note: Only Admins can create and manage groups.
  • Segment your team groups - You can define groups however you want: by teams, permissions, product lines, regions, or any other idea you have in mind.
  • Add anyone to the relevant groups - You can add people to more than one group.
  • Share templates with groups - Share templates with your team in bulk, with different file-level permissions.

P.S - Very soon, you’ll be able to share folders with the user groups too.

How it works:

  1. Head to the screen you want to update.
  2. Open the extension and change the capture method to ‘Update screen’.
